INT. CHURCH
Brock enters a church, and begins to pray in front of a figure of Christ.

BROCK
It's Brock, Sir. Edward Brock junior.
I come before you today, humbled and humiliated
to ask you for one thing. I want you to kill Peter Parker.

Peter tries to take off the black spider suit and he succeeds after a long struggle.
Brock can't believe his eyes.

BROCK
Parker?

After that the black organism covers Brock like a parasite. He fights it at first, then he smiles.

INT. PETER'S APARTMENT
Peter takes a shower and sits quietly in his apartment, thinking about what he has done.
Aunt May visits him. Peter opens the broken door.

AUNT MAY
Hi, Peter.

PETER
Hi.

Aunt May enters and looks around the room.

AUNT MAY
You don't seem to have changed the room around very much.
Of course, there's not much you can do, is there? When we spoke
on the phone, I sensed something was bothering you,
so I thought I'd just come by.

AUNT MAY
How's Mary Jane?

PETER
I don't know.

AUNT MAY
I never heard from you.
Did you ever propose?
You said
a husband's gotta put a wife before himself.

PETER
I'm not ready.

AUNT MAY
But what happened?
You seemed so sure.

PETER
Yeah. I...
I heard her, aunt May.
I don't know what to do.

AUNT MAY
You start by doing the hardest thing.
You forgive yourself.
I believe in you, Peter.
You're a good person. And I know you will find a way to put it right.
In time.

May puts the ring back on the TV.

EXT. STREET
Marko catches Brock and starts to punch him, then realizes he's not Spiderman.

MARKO
I don't like Spider-Man.

Marko throws Brock away. Brock crawls toward Marko on the wall.

BROCK
I want him dead too, Flint. That's why I've been looking for you. Oh yeah. I know all about you.
Like the fact that Spider-Man won't let you help your poor daughter. It's just-- It doesn't seem right to me.
Look. I wanna kill the Spider. You wanna kill the Spider. Together, he doesn't stand a chance.
Interested?

MARKO
Yeah.

EXT. STREET
Mary Jane hails a taxi and gets in.

INT. TAXI
The taxi driver turns around and smiles at Mary Jane. It's Brock.

BROCK
So -- where to?

Brock grasps Mary Jane.

INT. TV
EXT. TOWER

NEWSCASTER
"BREAKING NEWS: City in crisis" All New York is holding its breath
as a hostage crisis continues to unfold. Just thirty minutes ago, police
came across this startling sight:A young woman held hostage in a taxi
suspended 80 storeys above the ground in what appears to be a giant web.
Every attempt by the police to rescue the hostage has been flaunted by
the Sandman. Compounding the danger is the appearance of a strange black
-suited figure. Early reports had believed him to be the black-suited Spider-Man.
But he is now been identified as something entirely different.
REPORTER 1
The hostage has been identified as Mary Jane Watson,
an actrice recently seen in a brief stint on Broadway.

Peter opens the trunk and takes out his old spiderman suit.

REPORTER 1
We're now going to take you live to the scene with Jennifer Dugan.Jennifer?

REPORTER 2
We're only about 100 feet away now, Hal, and--
Wait. There seems to be some kind of activity in the web.
It seems to be creating some kind of gigantic lettering.
"SPIDER-MAN, STOP US IF YOU CAN"
Apparently, Spider-Man is being challenged to some sort of confrontation.
And that raises serious questions about what kind of chance he'd stand
against such overwhelming...

Harry is in his house and lookes at his father's portrait.

PETER
Harry.

Harry glances back and notices Peter standing behind him.

PETER
I need your help. Can't take them both. Not by myself.

HARRY
You don't deserve my help.

INT. HARRY'S ROOM

PETER
Harry,she needs us.

HARRY
Get out.

Harry withdraws Peter's gaze.
So Peter puts on the mask and goes out sadly.
Bernard comes into Harry's room.

BERNARD
If I may, Sir.
I've seen things in this house I've never spoken of.

HARRY
What are you trying to tell me?

BERNARD
The night your father died I cleaned his wound.
The blade that pierced his body came from his glider.
I know you're trying to defend your father's honor,but there's no question
that he died by his own hand. I loved your father. As I have loved you, Harry.
As your friends love you.

EXT. SKYSCRAPER
A reporter sees Spiderman trying to save Mary Jane.

REPORTER
Look! He seems to have come out of nowhere to answer the prayers of the city,
just when all hope seemed to be lost.

Mary Jane is trapped in a taxi which is caught in a web. Spiderman reaches her.

MARY JANE
Peter? They're gonna kill us both.

PETER
I'm gonna get you out of this.

MARY JANE
Watch out!

Eddie hits Peter.

BROCK
Hey, Parker.

PETER
My God. Eddie?

Eddie mocks Peter while attacking him.

BROCK
Oh, my spider-sense is tickling. If you know what I'm talking about.

PETER
We can find a way to settle this.

BROCK
You're so right. I'm thinking-- humiliation. Kinda like you humiliated me.
Do you remember? Do you remember what you did to me? You made me
lose my girl. Now I'm gonna make you lose yours. How's that sound, tiger?

Mary Jane falls from the taxi. Peter saves her.

PETER
Hold on, Mary Jane! Mary Jane.

Eddie laughs at Peter, and holds him down while the Sandman punches him again and again.
Everyone is watching on the street below.

REPORTER
It's hard to believe what's happening. The brutality of it.
I don't know how he can take any more. This can be a tragic day
for the people of New York. It could be the end of Spider-Man.

Then Harry flies to Peter with his glider to help his friend.
And many people look to that as a glimmer of hope.

CHILD A
Awesome!

CHILD B
Wicked cool!

Harry helps Spiderman. Spiderman is moved by his friend's action.

SPIDERMAN
You came.

HARRY
Looks like just in the nick of time.

SPIDERMAN
A couple of minutes ago wouldn't have been so bad either.

HARRY
What're you gonna do.

Peter faces Brock, and Harry faces Marko.

SPIDERMAN
I'm needing some help over here.

HARRY
I'm a little busy right now. Give me your hand!

Marko's attack resumes. Spiderman and Harry get past them by their joint effort.
Under the high buildings, Jameson tries to take pictures of them.

JAMESON
Parker! Parker, where... I need a photographer! Hey, kid. You want a job?

CHILD
Why would I want a job? I'm just a kid.

JAMESON
All right, how much for the camera?

Jameson wants to buy a camera from a girl to get pictures of spider-man and other monsters.

KID
One hundred bucks.

JAMESON
A hundred bucks? All right, you little prick. Here.

Jameson tries to take a picture, but he can't. There is no film in the camera.

KID
Film's extra.

JAMESON
Gotcha.

Harry cooperates with Peter to help Mary Jane

MARY JANE
Pete, watch out!

PETER
You still got any more?

HARRY
Hang on!

PETER
To what?

HARRY
Go, buddy!

Peter rides Harry's board, then jumps off to save Mary Jane as she is falling.

PETER
Got her! You OK?

MARY JANE
Yeah.

PETER
Good.

Harry is still fighting Marko.

HARRY
Hey, Pete. Am I interrupting?

Eddie attacks Peter.

BROCK
Never wound what you can't kill.


PETER
Eddie-- this suit-- you gotta take it off!

BROCK
Oh, you'd like that, wouldn't you?

PETER
I know what it feels like.
It feels good.
The power. Everything.
But you'll lose yourself.
Let it go.

BROCK
I like being bad.
It makes me happy.

HARRY comes to help PETER with board.
But BROCK attacks HARRY and many pipes are spreaded.
The sound of pipes makes PETER notice the weakpoint of Venom.
But in the moment, BROCK tries to attack PETER, and HARRY gets serious damages in behalf of PETER.

PETER
Harry!

Peter tries to attack the suit with the sounds of the pipes.
He tears the suit from Brock and tries to destroy Venom by using a bomb.

BROCK
Peter, what are you doing?
No!

Brock dives to get back into the suit.

PETER
Eddie!

Brock dies from the explosion with Venom.

INT. BUILDING
Mary Jane comes to Harry hastily.

MARY JANE
Harry?

HARRY
Mary Jane.

MARY JANE
I'm going to get help.

HARRY
Stay.

Marko begins to start about the event that uncle Ben is killed.

MARKO
I didn't want this. But I had no choice.

PETER
We always have a choice.
You had a choice when you killed my uncle.

MARKO
My daughter was dying. I needed money.
I was scared.
I told your uncle all I wanted was the car.

EXT. STREET (FLASHBACK)
Marko taps his gun on the window.

UNCLE BEN
What is it?

MARKO
I need your car.

INT. BUILDING
MARKO
He said to me: "Why don't you just put down the gun and go home?"

Marko talks about what he thought when he shot down Perker's father.

MARKO
I realize now he was just trying to help me.
Then I saw my partner running over with the cash,
and the gun was in my hand.

Marko shoots Uncle Ben by accident.

MARKO
Did a terrible thing to you.
I spent a lot of nights wishing I could take it back.
I'm not asking you to forgive me.
I just want you to understand.

Peter thinks about what Marko is saying.

PETER
I've done terrible things too. You didn't choose to be this.

Marko looks at his daughter's photograph.

MARKO
The only thing left to me now is my daughter.

PETER
I forgive you.

Marko turns into sand and leaves. Peter finds Harry and Mary Jane. Harry is dying.

PETER
Hey, pal. How are you doing?

HARRY
Been better.

PETER
We'll get you through this.

HARRY
No.

PETER
I should never...have said those things.

HARRY
None of that matters, Peter. You're my friend.

Peter nods.
PETER
Best friend.

Harry dies. Peter stands up with tears in his eyes.

PETER (NARRATING)
Whatever comes our way. Whatever battle we have raging inside us,
we always have a choice. My friend Harry taught me that.
He chose to be the best of himself.
It's the choices that make us who we are,
and we can always choose to do what's right.

Peter and Mary Jane go to Harry's funeral. Later, at the club, Mary Jane is singing.
Peter visits her, and offers her his hand. She takes it, and they hug each other.
